It seems very fitting to me that as we just finished the month of leprechaun’s and pots of gold I’d find myself TOTALLY OBSESSED WITH ALL THINGS GOLD!

It seems like everywhere I look I’m seeing gold!

Fashion, home décor, it’s everywhere this spring and I’m so surprised (I have been a silver girl since like, 9th grade-which was, oh, a few years ago!) but, I’m LOVING IT and I’m not afraid to admit it. I’m TOTALLY jumping on the bandwagon!

If you want to jump on the bandwagon too, here are a few tips on how to sprinkle your home in gold.

And if you’re like me and you’re just not sure how long your love affair with gold will last, there are some FABULOUS DIY projects to try that you can easily swap out at any time!

1. GOLD ACCENT PILLOWS

Just like adding a pop of color is easy, inexpensive and SAFE through the use of accent pillows, it’s also a great way to bring in a metallic to the mix!

Check out some of my FAVS from West Elm.

The metallic and linen combination allows you to bring in your accent of gold/silver while adding a textural element with linen. LOVE THIS!

2. GOLD LIGHTING

There are some absolutely SWOON WORTHY  gold lighting options out there people!

Wait. Am I the only one that swoons over lighting??

Maybe so, but I also swoon over chairs, and tables…ahhhh, I digress, but, WHO’S WITH ME ON THIS?!

Corbett Lighting definitely has me swooning over their ‘Bangle’ pendant light!

A warm glow though the golden  jewelry themed elements of this beautiful pendant creates a timelessly elegant look and a beautiful way to introduce gold into a space.

Or what about this pipe organ inspired chandelier from Demorais International?!

I was immediately drawn to this statement piece. How lovely would this be over your dining table decked out in some of my favorite golden table accessories below?

And check out this next image from The Decorating Diva.

I. Love. Everything. About. It.

I love how she incorporates this breathtakingly elegant navy and gold accented rectangle table lamp from Worlds Away with this beautiful golden Sunburst mirror in the background.-Which TOTALLY brings me to my next tip on incorporating gold into a space!

Go ahead. You can love everything about it too.

3. GOLD MIRRORS

We’ve all seen 100 different renditions of the Sunburst Mirror and even DIY tutorials on how to make them, but they NEVER GET OLD TO ME.

I just love the way they ground a vignette and doing one in a gold tone adds a touch of warmth and class to a space. (If you’re new to our blog and wondering what the heck a VIGNETTE is, check out this post!)

And who doesn’t want to look classy?!

4. GOLD TABLESCAPES

With Easter just around the corner it’s the PERFECT time to add some golden sparkle to your tablescape.

I’ve had my eye on this breathtaking gold flatware and this delicate gold rimmed glassware both from West Elm.

I LOVE the thought of pairing these classic dainty pieces with  a more modern Gold Zag Tray or this gold mirror placemat for a fun yet sophisticated Easter table scape with just the right amount of bling.

5. GOLD FRAMES

Gold frames like these from Pottery Barn that I specified for a client’s Master Bedroom can be a perfect and an inexpensive way of introducing a bit of Gold into your space.

Another thing to remember when adding a touch of gold (or any accent color for that matter) is that a can of spray paint can be YOUR BEST FRIEND!

This week, my gold spray paint has been mine for sure!

I created these gold accent canvases and framed them all for just the cost of a can of spray paint! That’s just $3.97!

I already had the canvases, some painter’s tape and a couple frames and I just got busy and made some graphic displays for my entry table. (Check out the before pic here!)-yes I spray painted that table and that white frame too, and to be honest that mirror…told spray paint has been my best friend this week!

And next week, I plan to do THIS project with my Gold spray paint, so stay tuned for a pic of this finished space!

So, what do you think? Will you be adding some Gold to your home this spring? If so, how have you decided to bring the bling to your space? We’d love to hear from you or even see a photo of your space in the comments section!
